After that, however, the city experienced a lot of expansion. Population increased from 1175 in the beginning of 1950s to 5087 in 1995. Currently, there are approximately fifty-three thousand inhabitants in Midlothian. In the North Texas region, it is an industrial center of cement plants as well as supports the employment of workers.
