The territory of Midlothian, Texas was established as early as middle of the 19th century. Pioneers and settlers began developing the region. It was officially designated as an agricultural community in the year of 1888. Cotton was farmed and cattle were raised in that area.
After that, however, the city experienced a lot of expansion. Population increased from 1175 in the beginning of 1950s to 5087 in 1995. Currently, there are approximately fifty-three thousand inhabitants in Midlothian. In the North Texas region, it is an industrial center of cement plants as well as supports the employment of workers.
